Finding Your Value!

I never cease to be amazed by how many advertisements are produced to make women

think they need one more product, one more service, or one more piece of clothing.

According to the ads, there is always just one more thing we need to be good, or have the

beauty or value that we think we should have. If beauty and value were only skin deep,

this could be true; but fortunately, there is so much more that contributes to our beauty

and value.

I think all too often we see ourselves as a

decoration rather than a structural

foundational element. It is easy to think

that the things that make us valuable are

so fleeting. It is easy to think that our scars

from one experience or the next, caused structural, life-altering damage that has stripped all we are and left us valueless. Now, given some choices can cause us a lot of damage, and they may even be life-altering; but I would argue that one’s true value is still intact. Our value is woven into our design so deeply it cannot be removed. We are by design valuable. If you come from the point of view of a creationist, you know that you have value. Your value becomes very apparent because you know that the God of all creation made you in His image.

Your value is intrinsic. This is like being the best signed piece of artwork or luxury bag ever! A Mercedes is a Mercedes, even if some parts become damaged and have to be replaced. It was created by a Mercedes Manufacturer and will always be a Mercedes, no matter what; its value is intrinsic. Your favorite shirt is your favorite shirt because of its design, regardless of the holes or other blemishes; because its value is in its design, its value is intrinsic.

So, I encourage you to think long and deeply as to what makes up the core of you. One’s core structures involve how one thinks, how one processes emotion, the way one logic through a situation, these elements and more shine light on one's value and purpose. It is in these deep core aspects of you that your value lies; these are the elements that make you who you really are, this is the matrix that births your essence and your true beauty.

Hone in on the core elements, and you will find a newfound zeal for who you are, scars

will start to fade, and a newfound appreciation for your struggles will reveal the good that

came out of it.

Here’s to going deep and building on what truly makes you valuable and beautiful.

Embrace who you are, be open to growing and changing, and enjoy the ride!

Have an amazing week!
